On a very happy note I would like to start our blog for 2017 with mention of some of our honeymooning guests on Table Mountain over the past few months along with their TripAdvisor reviews. It is wonderful to see the love, support, banter and sense of fun with these newlyweds.
India Venster (‘Venster’ is the Afrikaans word for ‘window’) seems to be the honeymooning hike. It has spectacular views as well as being adventurous but safe. Our guide, Cliff, also knows the best photo spots for those special photo moments. And if a sunset hike is what you signed up for there is nothing like watching the sun go down from the top of Table Mountain with 360 degree views of the Cape Peninsula around you. Oh, happiness!!

Best day in Cape Town! Cliff took myself and my wife up Table Mountain. He gauged our ability in the first few meters and selected a route that we genuinely got so much enjoyment from. Physical Challenge, amazing views, floral knowledge, wildlife…. we got it all in a few hours. We finished the day off by having a beer on us at the top as we reflected on a fantastic day! “An Amazing Experience in Cape Town!”
Cliff took us on a beautiful hike up table mountain. We were debating doing the cable car up or doing the hike and we went with the hike. It was absolutely the right decision. It was such amazing experience! Cliff was extremely well prepared for the journey and also very knowledgeable about the land. He moved at our pace and was the perfect guide for the trek. He took us on a route that was perfect for our fitness level and had views no one else knew about. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hike up with Cliff is a must do if you are visiting Cape Town!

We had a WONDERFUL time with Cliff. We were in Cape Town for our honeymoon. Our guesthouse arranged Cliff to be our guide. We are so happy that we had Cliff as a guide. I was a little nervous to climb Table Mountain, however Cliff and my Husband cheered me along the entire way. Cliff was very encouraging and knowledgeable. He also brought lots of water and snacks for the hike. After making it up to the top, Cliff provided us with suggestions on what to hit the rest our our trip. They were all fantastic. Thank you so much Cliff, we truly enjoyed our hike with you!

“Everything you could ask for from a hiking guide!!”
Cliff is an incredible guide. We hiked Table Mountain from the lower cable car station to the top along a less traditional, more adventuresome trail, recommended by Cliff–it was the best thing we did in Cape Town and one of the most memorable experiences of our lives.
Before we began hiking, Cliff asked us questions about our fitness levels, time constraints, and what sort of experience we were looking for. He then recommended the best hike for us, which definitely exceeded our expectations. He guided us along a challenging and extremely rewarding route while pointing out the best photographic opportunities along the way.
Cliff offers door-to-mountain-to-door service. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, helping us to avoid the hassle of scheduling separate transportation. He packed snacks (even local ones like biltong–a South African jerky), waters, and sweatbands for us. He took breaks with us when necessary and kept himself at our pace. He was really attentive and helpful.
Cliff is kind, knowledgeable, and full of good conversation. He provided fun and interesting facts about the flora and fauna indigenous to Table Mountain, Cape Town and the surrounding suburbs, and South African culture in general. He was able to give us recommendations for wineries and restaurants and was very patient as we snapped photos all the way up the mountain. He also took a ton of frameworthy photos of us.
We honestly couldn’t be happier. Cliff’s tour made our Cape Town trip!
