Lion’s Head is a free-standing peak located next to Table Mountain, with a height of 669m above sea level. The route spirals all the way around to give you 360-degree panoramic views. The views include Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak, Robben Island, Table Bay, Camps Bay and the city. There are some ladders, chains and staples to negotiate, which adds to the sense of adventure. It also serves as a great alternative for when Table Mountain is covered in cloud. This route is especially popular to do for sunrise. On average, this walk only takes about 3 hours in total, so if you do it early morning, it leaves you with plenty of time to enjoy another Cape Town tour on the same day.
