Platteklip Gorge is the oldest, shortest and most direct route to the summit of Table Mountain. Therefore, also the steepest and the busiest. It is a well constructed, very safe route, albeit a bit boring.
So, why are we saying this is our least favourite route?
It is crowded, the views in the gorge are limited and there is no sense of adventure.
The route is only a good option if you are pressed for time.
